  • April 1, 2024—Final book event of the Spring 2024 Tour in St. Augustine was a good one. Sold several copies of Asesina and had a special time.

  • TourMarch 15, 2024—A heartfelt thanks to the organizers at Esplanade in Tampa for the well-attended book event. Beautiful day.

  • February 14, 2024—Spent a sun-filled day in Tarpon Springs, Florida at a community book event. Met several avid readers. Great Valentine’s Day.

  • January 8, 2024—Taking a break from my second novel to work on a short story request from a quarterly satire magazine. Check here for future book signing events in Florida and North Carolina.

  • December 19, 2023—Great book event on the campus at the University of Tampa. Students were wrapping up their academic semester. I spoke about the challenges of writing and getting published.

  • October 26, 2023—Southern Book Tour is a go. Looking forward to meeting Asesina readers in Florida.

  • August 5, 2023—Looking forward to an air-conditioned book signing in Sun City, Arizona at the new Senior Center. Nice pre-registration of Asesina readers. Should be fun.

  • July 8, 2023—Black Rose Writing publisher Reagan Rothe announced that Asesina will be featured on Black Rose’s Rosevine on July 16. Check it out.

  • May 19-20, 2023—Set up a table at the Rhododendron Fair in Florence, Oregon. Signed copies of Asesina and had a great time. Incredible flowers!

  • April 13, 2023—Finalizing plans for attending a book fair in mid-May on the coast of Oregon. More details on the way.

  • March 18, 2023—Took some time off from my manuscript to attend a local book fair in Ashland, Oregon. Was a lovely break.

  • February 9, 2023—Book fairs in Tampa and West Palm Beach were great fun. Wonderful weather and enthusiastic Asesina readers on hand.

  • January 11, 2023—Just finished the first draft of follow-up novel. Entire book is set in Colombia.

  • December 6, 2022—Enjoyed signing copies of Asesina at two different bookstores in the Phoenix area. Holiday sales were outstanding. Many Asesina readers stopped by to talk about Angel, Blas and Dr. Ernie.

  • October 22, 2022—In re-release, Asesina reaches Amazon’s Top Fifty Best Sellers for Kindle Medical Thrillers.

  • October 7, 2022—Reagan Rothe, Publisher, Black Rose Writing, announced that Asesina will be the featured novel for the publishing house’s Bookshot Promotion on October 19. “We continue to be excited by Asesina’s sales especially in our international markets,” stated Rothe.

  • September 20, 2022—Great being out at the Southern Oregon Coastal Fair. Sold several copies of Asesina and enjoyed meeting our readers.

  • July 12, 2022—Publisher placed a featured advertisement for Asesina in the Summer Issue of Strand Magazine. This literary magazine has a circulation of over 55,000 readers.

  • June 24, 2022—Spent time with publisher developing late-Summer media campaign for Asesina. Details coming soon.

  • May 3, 2022—Last event on our Florida book tour was a great success. Enjoyed Fort Meyers and a special thanks to my publisher Black Rose Writing for its support.

  • March 10, 2022—Outdoor book festival in Sun City, Arizona was well-attended. Several Asesina fans on hand.

  • January 17, 2022—Invited to participate in a Literacy Arizona event in the Phoenix area. Toured a handful of bookstores. Signed copies of Asesina. We had a wonderful day.

  • December 8, 2021—Signed several copies of “Asesina” at the opening of a new Barnes & Noble in Glendale, Arizona. As always, it was a pleasure meeting several enthusiastic Asesina readers.

  • November 13, 2021—Tampa Riverwalk book event was outstanding. Hit several book stops and met some wonderful Floridian readers. Great time.

  • October 5, 2021—Well-attended book event in St. Petersburg. Several Asesina readers on hand to discuss the novel. Signed several copies.

  • September 1, 2021—Selected to be a participating author at Seattle’s Downtown Reads book event. Visited five different bookstores, met many enthusiastic readers, and signed a lot of copies of Asesina.

  • August 9, 2021—Completed busy July schedule of Zoom-video book club events. Contact Black Rose Writing for a schedule.

  • July 2, 2021—Special military appreciation to all Operation Paperback author/donors in honor of July 4th. Very cool.

  • June 3, 2021—Had a lively Zoom discussion with the Westbrook Book Club in Phoenix. They loved Asesina.

  • April 23, 2021—Asesina reached over $2,400 in donated copies to military personnel via Operation Paperback.

  • March 28, 2021—Regan Rothe, publisher for Black Rose Writing, announced that Asesina will be the publishing house’s featured thriller. “We’re backing the novel with an aggressive promotional campaign to support Asesina’s strong sales in both the U.S. and worldwide,” stated Rothe.

  • March 15, 2021—Enjoyed keynoting a Zoom session of the Southwest Bookers group. Discussed Asesina with an interesting and avid book crowd. Good stuff.

  • January 21-26, 2021—Distance book events in South Florida were a success. Met several readers on Zoom and at stores.

  • December 4, 2020—Holiday book event in Scottsdale, Arizona at Scottsdale Quarter. Great time.

  • October 16, 2020—Successful book event in McMinnville, Oregon. Met several loyal readers!

  • September 26-28, 2020—Had a wonderful time at three different book events in Florence, Reedsport, and Yachats Oregon. We had a great turnout in each city. Thanks!

  • September 16, 2020—Asesina will be featured on Amazon Kindle Nation at its “Thriller of the Day”.

  • September 8, 2020—U.S. Veterans Health Administration thanks Craig Keffeler & Black Rose Writing for their generous donation of Keffeler’s novel, Asesina, to the patients in the VA North Texas Health Care System. This donation of books was made through Operation Paperback which serves military service men and women around the world.

  • August 7, 2020—Black Rose Writing announced that Asesina debuted in Amazon Kindle’s Top 50 Medical Thrillers at #45 on July 31.

  • March 23, 2020—See new Black Rose Writing Ad featuring Asesina in the Spring Edition of Strand Magazine.

  • February 26, 2020—Black Rose Writing announces that Asesina will be distributed in China, Germany, India, Italy, Russia, Spain, Poland, and South Korea through an agreement with Global Connect. Baker & Taylor will serve as the primary distribution partner in the U.K and France, while a six-distributor group will serve Australia and New Zealand.

  • February 13, 2020—Top-selling international author Stephanie South, The Uninscribed, says “Asesina is a quick-witted thriller. Keffeler’s skillfully crafted novel grabs the reader from the first line and doesn’t let go.”

  • January 27, 2020—Edit of Asesina is completed. Black Rose Writing announces a release date of April 29, 2020. Asesina will be distributed in the U.S. and Canada through Ingram Book Company which serves over 40,000 retailers, libraries, schools, and universities. Asesina will also be available through Amazon.com, Kindle, BN Nook, Kobo, Apple iBooks, 24symbols, Page Foundry, Scribd, Overdrive, Bibliotheca, Tolino, and OnDemandBooks.com.   • August 15, 2019—Black Rose Writing and Craig Keffeler sign an agreement to publish Keffeler’s first novel, Asesina. Publisher Reagan Rothe states, “We are excited about adding an author of such high potential to the Black Rose Writing family (among previous authors such as John Hunt, Chris Kelsey, Joe Siple, Joe Barrett, and Seinfeld writer Andy Rowan) and look forward to a Spring 2020 release date for Asesina.”
